Primošten is a small town built on the island near the coast, known for its indigenous stone houses, churches, the narrow streets of the Mediterranean style, with countless bays and islands.
The town’s name originates from this as well- it has been derived from the Dalmatian term ‘primostiti’- to bridge. Surrounded by seven small islands, Primosten is a gift of nature that leaves no one unimpressed.
Once a fishing village, the town has developed into a touristic paradise in this part of the Adriatic. The charm this small town exudes is difficult to resist.

ST. GEORGE CHURCH
The Church of St. George is situated in the heart of the old part of Primošten. It was built on top of hills in the 15th century, and was thoroughly reconstructed in 1760 year. It keeps the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary with silver adornments and a painting of St. Mary with St. Luke and George, and it is a work of Master Cusi from 1719 year.
Our Lady Of Loreto Statue
The statue of Our Lady of Loreto, the patron saint of Primosten, is located on the hill Gaj at an altitude of 170 m, from where there is a beautiful view of Primosten and the islands. At the top is the Madonna bar.

The Church of St. Roch
This small church was first mentioned in 1553, and later expanded. There was a cemetery near it, so, naturally, prayers for the dead and the mass were held in the church. In 1680 the church was expanded and consecrated (once again), but this time it was dedicated to St. Roch as a sign of gratitude for liberation from the plague. On 16 August the feast of St. Roch is celebrated. That is when morning and evening Mass is held and the faithful pray for protection from all diseases. In front of the church there is a monument erected in honour of priest Ivan Šarić.
